Celebrate Earth Day At Phoenix Zoo
Designed to inspire stewardship and appreciation the environment, Earth Day will be celebrated at the Phoenix Zoo on Saturday, April 14 with a host of activities for guests of all ages.
Attendees can Strike a Pose at the Recycled Fashion Show. Held at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., new fashions are designed from reused clothing and recyclable material by students from the Mesa Community College Fashion program.
There’s complimentary face painting, up-close animal encounters, farm animal demonstrations including sheep shearing and horticulture talks throughout day. Watch a Sidewalk Chalk Artist draw on the concrete
Take a Kodak-moment and stop by the Hug a Tree Station and the Bag Making Station with the infamous Bag Monster for photo ops.
Visit Wright in the Garden to create mini potted plants out of newspaper. Learn that Trees Matter with displays to see pods and smell flowers. Kids can Become a Zero Waste Specialist and enjoy a game where they are are tasked with sorting materials into landfill, compost and recycling bins.
Earth Day activities are included with general admission into the Zoo.
