Fireworks display at Tempe Town Lake

Make July 4, 2018 a star-spangled day. To honor our nation’s birthday, join in on one of the many events taking part in the Valley. From carnival games to vintage planes, from hot-dog eating contests to water slides, from live-music to firework shows – let’s celebrate!

Fabulous Phoenix Fourth

FABULOUS PHOENIX FOURTH    

One of the largest fireworks displays in the Southwest, the 32nd annual Fabulous Phoenix Fourth, will be held at the Steele Indian School Park. The celebration will feature two stages of international recording artists, a variety of festival-style food vendors, a car show and a kids zone. The event draws a huge crowd, so arrive early to get a good spot for the fireworks show which begins at 9:30 p.m. www.phoenix.gov/parks/special-events

D-BACKS FOURTH OF JULY

Celebrate America’s birthday with the home team this July 4th. The D-backs take on the St. Louis Cardinals at 7:10 p.m. inside air-conditioned Chase Field. Afterwards, the retractable roof will open for a fireworks spectacular. www.mlb.com/dbacks

HOMETOWN 4TH OF JULY

Come celebrate the holiday at Schnepf Farms with their Hometown 4th of July event. The gates open at 4 p.m. Expect an evening filled with water games, food trucks, a petting zoo, and an outdoor movie. The fireworks will begin at 8:30 p.m. Part of all the proceeds towards tickets will benefit the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center. www.schnepffarms.com

Fourth of July Freedom Fest
FOURTH OF JULY FREEDOM FEST

The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess celebrates its annual patriotic party weekend. The fun-filled festivities include concerts on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings, techno-glow pool parties and drive-in movies. On the Fourth, there’s an air show featuring 30 vintage military aircrafts flown by retired veterans. Throughout the afternoon, live music by the band MJ Live, a Michael Jackson tribute band, will perform all of the superstar’s hits. STAR SPANGLED FOURTH

Celebrate the day with an old American pastime- baseball. Held at the Goodyear Ballpark, the Star Spangled Fourth event begins at 6 p.m. Participate in a Nathan’s hot dog-eating contest, cool off on inflatable water slides and enjoy live music by the Groove Merchants. A 20-minute spectacular fireworks show will begin at 9 p.m. www.goodyearbp.com/events

FREEDOM FOURTH POOL PARTY

Perched on the third-floor pool deck of Kimpton Hotel Palomar in downtown Phoenix, LUSTRE is kicking off the long weekend live music, beer samplings, Tito’s Vodka tasting and giant pool toys for party-goers. Open to both hotel and non-hotel guests, the fun begins on June 30 and continues through July 4. HERO APPRECIATION AT WET N’ WILD

Celebrate the Fourth with a summertime cool down. Spend the daylight hours chilling at Wet n’ Wild water park in Glendale.  The park’s special fireworks show will begin at 8:45 p.m. and can be viewed from the rides. Westgate Fireworks Fest
WESTGATE FIREWORK FEST

The Westgate Firework Fest kicks off in Glendale at 5 p.m. Bring blankets, lawn chairs and snacks and settle in to enjoy the live music that will be held on two stages. Activities include a water-zone, face painting for the kids and a beer garden for the adults. There will be non-stop family entertainment throughout the night while local restaurants serve their holiday fare. At 9 p.m. the fireworks show will light up the sky. www.westgateaz.com/events

GREAT AMERICA FOURTH

Join in the holiday events at the Copper Sky Regional Park in Maricopa. Live music, headlined by the group Outside the Line, will begin at 6 p.m. with continued performances throughout the evening. This family-friendly event will feature a “kids zone” with carnival games, bounce houses and inflatable slides. At 9 p.m., our local veterans will be honored followed by a fireworks display. www.maricopa-az.gov

FOURTH AT THE FOUNTAIN

Put on your patriotic best and join friends and neighbors at Fountain Park to celebrate the USA! The celebration will kick off at 5:00 p.m. with music, games, kids entertainment and a wide variety of food. Bring a blanket or chair to relax and enjoy an evening filled with fun. FOURTH OF ZOOLY

At 7 p.m. Phoenix Zoo will open its gates for their annual 4th OF ZOOLY. The family-fun event starts with a catered BBQ dinner. Attendees then can stroll over to Stingray Bay where there will be live entertainment, animal encounters and free carousel rides. At 9 p.m. gather for a VIP, bird’s-eye view of the nearby Tempe Town Lake Fireworks Spectacular Show. www.phoenixzoo.org

TEMPE CENTER FOR THE ARTS JULY FOURTH

Stay cool at Tempe Center for the Arts as it opens its doors to celebrate July 4th. Tempe Town Lake Festival
TEMPE TOWN LAKE FESTIVAL

Get a lakeside view of one of the best fireworks show in the Valley. Gates open at 5 p.m. The event will offer live music and entertainment, food vendors and activities galore for the children. BAG IT FOR BUCKS/ TAKE PRIDE IN AMERICA

Cool off and help the community while tubing on the Salt River. On July 2, 3 and  4, floaters are encouraged to lend a hand and stash their picnic trash in the free litter bags distributed by Salt River Tubing employees.

Returning for the fifth year, the celebration begins at 4 p.m. With entertainment for all ages, the indoor event is air-conditioned.
