In support of the Arizona Humane Society (AHS), over 1,1000 Valley pet lovers attended the 21st annual Compassion with Fashion. Held on March 31 at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort, the fundraiser was presented by PetSmart Charities.
The event raised a record-breaking $1.3 million towards the organization’s mission to help needy animals. Ann Siner and Tess Loo of Eco-Chic Consignments co-chaired the event. Longtime animal advocates , the sisters celebrate the “indescribable joy that pets bring into our lives.”

As guests arrived, they gathered outside to review and bid on one-of-a-kind silent auction items and peruse “dream” dog houses. Most importantly, attendees had the opportunity to meet-and- greet the 15 AHS adoptable pets.
Attendees were then treated to a seated lunch generously hosted by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona. BOOM! LED Drumline provided a musical opening to the designer fashion show presented by My Sister’s Closet and Well-Suited.
Emcees Scott Pasmore and Heather Moore, news anchors at KTVK-3TV introduced the Parade of Paws. The highlight of the afternoon was watching 11 adorable and adoptable dogs take to the runway. With the aid of the Humane Society each animal had overcome adversity.
Thor, a golden Labrador mix, was born in an AHS Foster Hero home after his mother had been hit by a car and Nom Nom, an Australian shepherd puppy who was brought to AHS when no other shelter was available, stole the show, Four felines – Oswald, Jet Suzette and Willow – also joined the festivities. That afternoon, all 15 pets found their forever homes.
