For this special holiday event, Breakfast with Santa, the Children’s Museum of Phoenix will open at 8 a.m. Kids will meet Santa, take photos, enjoy a yummy breakfast and then spend the day exploring the Museum.

Christmas at the Princess brings the North Pole to Scottsdale. With real-life holiday characters roaming the resort, the spirit continues at the outdoor ice skating rink, Build-A-Bear Workshop and S’mores Land. No visit is complete without stopping by Santa’s Secret Headquarters, getting the inside scoop directly from Santa and his elves.

For a special treat, there’s Breakfast with Santa & Friends. Enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet with Santa at this magical pajama party, with surprises and delights at every turn. Dance to the jolly tunes of DJ Jingle, play reindeer games, visit Santa in his Secret Headquarters for photos and receive a discounted special daytime skating session.

Make it a three-for-one: ice skating under the star-lit sky, a one-on-one chat with St. Nick and photos with the jolly old man himself. The ice rink at CityScape in downtown Phoenix will be open through January 7 with Meet Santa available on weekends – both Saturdays and Sundays – through Christmas Eve.

Celebrate with the Claus family at The Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale, Troon North at Cookies with Claus. Children can help bake cookies with the Santa, Mrs.Claus and the entire Claus family, with the resort’s pastry team on hand to help. Afterwards, there will be a special story time session, decorating gingerbread men and holiday ornaments and photo opportunities with Santa. While the kids are busy, adults are welcome to indulge in a gourmet hot cocoa and coffee bar, breakfast items and a mimosa or two. The event will be held on both December 16 and 23 from 10 a.m. to noon.

This is the perfect alternative for the little ones who are shy, hesitant or scared to sit on Santa’s lap. Instead, they can write a Letter to Santa, sharing all the good and naughty things they’ve done throughout the year and giving him a wish-list of items they are hoping to find under the tree on Christmas morning. It’s a pay-it-forward because, for every letter posted, Macy’s will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish nonprofit organization.

Mesa Arts Center comes alive with holiday happenings after dusk on Merry Main Street. Ice skate under the stars on a 5,000 square foot outdoor rink, ride the Polar Express, stop at the sELFie photo stations and visit with Santa for a chat and photo.

Phoenix Zoo

ZooLights is a treasured Valley event. Now in its 26th season, guests can wander the Phoenix Zoo trails after dusk and marvel at the hundreds of glimmering light displays and music-in-motion shows. Santa at ZooLights will be in waiting to chat and be photographed with the young’uns every evening through December 23.

Enjoy breakfast at Over Easy, the newest Biltmore brunch spot. Then grab some hot cocoa or cider at Press Coffee before Meeting with Santa. The jolly one will be making a surprise stop on two Saturdays – December 16 and 23. Diners can watch holiday movies on the big-screen TV or hit the patio for a game of ping pong or shuffleboard.

Scottsdale Fashion Square teamed up with HGTV to bring a modern and technologically-advanced twist to Christmas for the kids. Activities will include taking an Elfie Selfie, starring in your very own holiday video, using Elf-Ray Vision to explore Santa’s Observatory and measuring your status on the Naughty or Nice Meter. To  chronicle the experience, photos with Santa will be available on his newly modernized sleigh. Santa’s Headquarters in the Desert will be held Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Skate Westgate

For those in the West Valley, Skate Westgate is a good place to get in the holiday spirit. Inspired by the skating rink in Central Park, make magical memories this season as you glide on this outdoor skating rink. Visit with Santa, take a horse-drawn carriage ride and walk into a life-size snow globe to enjoy nightly shows. Photos with Santa are from noon to 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
