Arizona Opera celebrates composer Leonard Bernstein’s centennial with the company premiere of Candide. Fast-paced, funny and philosophical, this Tony award-wining Broadway smash is now considered an operatic masterpiece. Candide leaves audiences humming hit tunes and affirms that the path to happiness is seldom easy.

Food Truck Fest

More than 60 of the Valley’s food trucks serve their specialties. Once inside the festival, you can use cash or credit cards at all bars and food trucks. Live bands, lawn games, eating contests, cooking demonstrations, children’s activities and a vendor marketplace add to the fun.

Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show

Held at WestWorld, this annual show features nearly 2,400 horses bringing top owners, trainers and breeders from around the world as they compete for championship titles across a variety of equestrian disciplines. The event benefits the Arabian Horsemans’ Distress Fund, ASU Western Equestrian Team, SCC Equine Sciences Scholarships and March of Dimes.

This country superstar brings her Livin’ Like Hippies Tour to downtown Phoenix. Known for revenge anthems, upbeat drinking songs and tender ballads about love and family Lambert is sure to sing favorites such as “Little Red Wagon,””Somethin’ Bad” and “Vice.”

Cavalia Odysseo

A cast of 50 riders, acrobats, dancers, musicians and 65 horses of 12 different breeds demonstrate their bond as this production combines equestrian arts, awe-inspiring acrobatics and high-tech theatrical effects.

Canal Convergence

Innovative art displays that combine water, art and light are spotlighted as Scottsdale Public Art presents this annual event on and nearby the Arizona Canal. Workshops, dance performances, local bands, artist talks, poetry readings and community bike rides are additional activities.

Iris van Herpen: Transforming Fashion

The exhibition surveys 15 collections of the dynamic, innovative work of Dutch designer Iris van Herpen. Renowned for her use of 3-D printing, van Herpen is widely considered one of contemporary fashion’s most progressive creators, and is a favored designer of many style icons, including Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Björk and Cara Delevingne.
