Returns to Salt River Fields in October

The 11th Annual Arizona Taco Festival – el original – is making a comeback to Salt River Fields on October 23 and 24, 2021. This two-day Taco-Palooza will deliver another year of taco madness with more than 50 top taco makers from the valley’s best restaurants, food trucks and chefs, along with a non-stop schedule of entertainment, contests and instagrammable moments. 

 “We’re delighted to have the original Arizona Taco Festival back at Salt River Fields,” said Dave Dunne, General Manager, Salt River Fields.   “This year we’ve elevated the taco fest experience for our guests like never before. It will be one big delicious party to celebrate tacos and tequila wrapped in an entertainment experience.”

 “This year we’re literally designing the event to be more fun,” said Rick Phillips, Founder, Arizona Taco Festival. “We’ve developed new ideas and new surprises for our taco-obsessed guests. We’re doubling the fun, tequila, and of course tacos…it’s going to be a party.”

TACO-TOPIA. More than 50 restaurants and food trucks will be in attendance, all who will be serving a variety of $3 tacos and tons of vegan options! There will be a People’s Choice Taco Competition where fans will vote for their top taco! And, new this year are six curated local celeb-u-chef taco stations, featuring chefs from top restaurants throughout metro Phoenix. Each station will have its own bar. 

ENTERTAINMENT & MORE. Giant shaded party tents will be spaced throughout the event, each one featuring its own theme, DJ, bars, food and fun. The famed Tequila Tent will be spreading the agave love across the entire event with the new Tequila Passport Program. For a $25 ticket add on, guests will be able to party their way around the entire event, sipping or shooting up 10 one-ounce samples, at the specially designated Tequila Passport Stations from over 100 tequilas, mezcals, sotols, and bacanoras.

  • Taco Gordo Taco Eating Contest.  A 10-person speed eating contest in an all-out taco pig-out.
  • Hot Chili Pepper Eating Contest. 5 fiery rounds of blistering pepper consumption. Milk provided.
  • Holy Hot Sauce Tent. Attendees and daredevils can sample a fearsome array of hot sauces, curated by Vic Clinco, owner of the world’s largest private collection.
  • Chihuahua Beauty Pageant. The iconic Chihuahua Beauty Pageant. Watch more than 15 sassy Chihuahuas strut their four-legged stuff across the Main Stage.
  • Lucha Libre. High-flying maneuvers, extreme takedowns from Luchadores with colorful masks.

 TICKETS. General Admission tickets are $14 in advance online only and $20 day of show, kids under 12 free. VIP tickets are $100 in advance online only and $120 day of event (includes a Tequila Passport). Tequila Passport ticket is a separate add-on ticket of $25 and includes 10 tequila samplings.
