Art Detour became the heartbeat of the local arts scene when it started as Phoenix’s original art walk 34 years ago. From exploring artists’ studio spaces to watching live painting, it began as a weekend full of incredible things to see, do and experience. This year, the event has expanded to the entire month of March. Some events have specific dates, times and admission prices, while many are free and can be explored at your leisure.

Artlink, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission of connecting artists, businesses and the community, announced that Art Detour will return as a month-long celebration of the Arizona arts and culture community. Now in its 34th year, the event will begin on March 1 and continue through 31, 2022, giving art patrons, collectors and art lovers a broader range of ways in which to engage with artists and destinations throughout the state.

Artlink invites artists, venues, businesses and organizations to register as an Artlink Articipant and join this amazing arts and culture celebration.

ART d’CORE GALA

Highlighting the Art Detour 34 schedule is Artlink’s signature event, the 9th Annual Art d’Core Gala. On March 11, the arts and culture party of the year.will be held at Park Central in midtown Phoenix. The Gala returns with a new theme, Forces of Attraction, that invites those who contribute to and support the arts – including artists, collectors, philanthropists and community partners – to come together in celebration of the massive growth of Arizona’s arts community in recent years.

This creative spin on a traditional gala shines the spotlight on Arizona’s creative communities with an artist showcase produced by members of the Artlink Artist Council and invited artists. Gala guests will experience a wide range of works in a debut exhibition of visual, performing, fashion and culinary arts.

“We look forward to welcoming back the community to this signature celebration of the arts and culture that spotlights the great accomplishments and contributions of our creative culture,” said Kahler. “Artists, patrons and partygoers are in for an elevated arts experience not to be missed.”

Sharon Harper, chairman and CEO of Plaza Companies, is the  chairperson of this year’s Gala. As one of Arizona’s premier business leaders, Harper has infused the arts into Park Central, SkySong and many other Plaza Companies developments, as a model to others that arts and culture are integral to the vibrancy of a community.

“I am honored to serve as Chair of the 2022 Art d’Core Gala,” said Harper. “I have seen first-hand the power of art in Phoenix, and I am thrilled to be collaborating with Artlink, showcasing the rapidly growing arts and culture community in our state.”
